Parent Mentors

Parent Mentors are parents of children with special needs who work within school districts to provide families with information and support for effectively working with schools. Many parent mentors offer workshops on topics concerning families of children with special needs, write parent newsletters and serve as a resource that parents can call for help. They also work as liaisons between families and school district personnel so that together they can build positive relationships in order to create the most appropriate educational program for their children.

Currently, there are ten school districts in SST 11 that have one or more parent mentors available to assist parents in their district. Below is the contact information for those parent mentors.
